Do You Know When to Replace Your Tires?

Knowing when to replace your tires can be tricky. Tires that look perfectly fine to the untrained eye could, in fact, be short on grip, making driving on wet or icy pavement hazardous.

There are some simple ways to tell if your tires are ready for replacing:

• Using a measuring tool, check to see how much tread depth is left on your tires.  While 2/32” is the legal limit, experts recommend no less than 4/32” of tread for wet or winter driving.
• Examine tires for any deformity, such as bulges, bowing, or uneven wear. This could be a sign of poor alignment or damage to the tire.

Should you suspect that your tires require replacing, it is recommended that it be done in sets of 2 or 4 to maintain appropriately even traction.
